Research
I study how persons, their values and commitments, and the social institutions in which they live shape one another.
My research brings questions of personal identity, agency and the good life into conversation with contemporary social and institutional practices.
Teaching
My aim in teaching philosophy is not simply to communicate philosophical knowledge, but to enable students to develop their own capacity for critical and independent judgement.
I teach across practical and applied philosophy, with particular experience in ethics in social work and healthcare. My teaching connects philosophical reflection with professional practice and contemporary social questions.
